Meet Our Staff
James (Jim) Taylor Jr. is the son of the founders and owners of Taylor’s Auto Group, Bamma and James Taylor Sr., and is part owner himself. Founded when he was just 7 years old, Jim grew up alongside the Taylor’s Auto businesses and watched his family build the empire from the ground up. Along the road, Jim found himself in just about every position at Taylor’s, working in sales, service, financing, and management positions. He started by selling cars at the first Taylor’s dealership in junior high school, and in high school and college, he worked at a local body shop, a windshield replacement business, a local ski gear and apparel store, and in an automotive detailing service center. Jim attended the University of Montana for three and a half years while perusing a degree in Business and Accounting. After college, he worked in finance at Jim Taylor Motors in Fort Benton. He then moved to the finance department at Taylor’s Auto Max in Great Falls for 7 years, and then moved into a Sales Manager position for 12-13 years. After that period of time, Jim’s uncle, who was a part owner at the time, retired and the position of part owner was passed onto Jim Jr. His career boasts a total of 26 years in the business and 8-9 years as an owner. As an owner, he takes on the responsibility of general business operations, finance and accounting, profitability, and ensuring the success of his employee and customer experiences. What he enjoys most about what he does for a living is adapting to current business trends and seeing the hard work, growth and success of the business. Jim has lived in the Great Falls area his entire life and is proud to be part of the community. What he loves most about Great Falls is the beautiful outdoors, small town atmosphere, the high-quality education and environment for raising children, and living about 10 minutes away from “God’s Country.” When Jim’s not handling the business, he enjoys outdoor recreation like wake surfing, riding dirt bikes, and hunting in the fall. But what he enjoys the most is spending his time supporting his three sons with their education and athletics. Jim himself played football, basketball and soccer at his alma mater, Great Falls High School. Jim and his wife of over 20 years also own two dogs.

Jay has been one of Taylor’s top automotive salesmen for almost 7 years. He joined the team in December 2014, after serving in the U.S. Air Force Band for 21 years and owning his own music business for 7 years. As a leader in sales, Jay seriously loves his job at Taylor’s Auto Max and working with people of all ages and backgrounds. He enjoys tackling new challenges every day and to Jay, there’s no better feeling than finding the perfect vehicle to meet the wants and needs of each customer he meets. Jay moved to Great Falls from his hometown of Edmonds, Washington after his retirement from the Airforce in 2000. What he loves most about living in the Treasure State are all the friendly people, the privacy and small-town feel of Great Falls, and traveling the beautiful outdoors in his motor home. When Jay isn’t finding someone a great, new ride, he enjoys spending his time camping and boating, doing yard work, and just relaxing at home while watching Sci-Fi or war films. Jay has five fully-grown children and recently remarried in April, 2021. He and his wife own three dogs and one cat. Italian food is Jay’s favorite thing to eat and Air Force Blue is his favorite color.

David, known by many as “Tate,” has been a Taylor’s Auto Max salesman for over 5 years, and has been in sales since 2003. His pride and passion for excellent customer service propelled him to finding a successful career in the sales industry. He enjoys getting to meet new people every day in his position, and he especially enjoys the challenges each day brings. His father is from Butte, MT and was a long-time member of the U.S. Air Force. As such, David grew up all over the country. He was born in Victorville, California, and has also resided in Washington and Wyoming, before calling Montana his home for over 18 years. David appreciates the rural, slow-paced lifestyle the Treasure State brings, and he enjoys the comfort of his home in his off time. With a brother and nephew in Helena, David also enjoys spending his time with his family or hanging out with friends. He’s a big fan of sports, and you can often find him watching a game, especially for the San Francisco 49er’s football team and Giants baseball team, the Seattle Super Sonics basketball team, Florida State University football and baseball, and the University of North Carolina basketball. David also enjoys getting active himself, and playing golf, basketball and softball. David and his fiancé have three dogs and are planning their wedding for summer 2022. His favorite color is red, and his dream car would be a 1964 two-door Canary Yellow Impala with white leather interior.
